In this activity students will pair up and take a look at several situations of heightened international tension between 1898 and 1914. They will create a connecting graph and three line graphs illustrating the rise and fall of international tension in Europe in the years leading up to 1914. Based on these graphs the students will answer the central question: why did the peace fail in 1914?
